Your Backpack is our creative competition which we’re running together with Bonnier Carlsen, one of Sweden’s leading children’s book publishers.  The date for submissions has passed. We were happy to receive around 300 inspiring contributions. Many of them were very well written and our jury has now picked 20 stories that are published in the anthology Min Ryggsäck.

On June 16 2014 Bonnier Carlsen’s office in Stockholm hosted a book release for the newly published book. Here are some of the talented authors that came to sign their new book!

Your Backpack

War breaks out in Sweden and nothing is the same anymore.
First your father disappears without a trace, and then several of rygga (2)your friends. Everybody is scared and nobody dares to trust anyone. You have to flee if you’re going to survive. You can only take one backpack with the most important things in it.

– What will you take with you in your backpack?

– What’s important to you?

– What do you want to remember?

– What do you want to keep?

A jury made up of publishers from Kartago and Bonnier Carlsen, author and reading ambassador Johan Unenge, and author Oskar Ekman have selected the contributions to be published in a book in mid-June.

One of the members of the jury for our creative competition is Johan Unenge, illustrator and author of almost 100 children’s books and comics, including “Eva & Adam”, “Livet enligt Rosa”, and “Gyllene Knorren”. Johan also works as a scriptwriter for movies and TV-shows. In 2011 he was nominated Sweden’s first Reading Ambassador, and now travels around to schools to lecture about the benefits and joys of reading. Johan has received the Unghunden-prize for his series, received an August nomination for “Vi som ser på”, and has been awarded Kristallen for a TV-series.
